Watching H Brown #1 (9-3-05)
"So where's fucking Radiohead?"
(Jens reflecting on lost friends in New Orleans)
(plus movie reviews)
Dear Anybody Within The Sound Of My Voice:
The Revolution is fucking *on*. As of this writing, it appears Rehnquist was just murdered by the Black Panthers or CIA/Osama or John Roberts or some other anti-stemcell lord overseer member of the global Illuminati overseerclass. The 10,001st casualty of the New American Revolution.
Breaking through the levee of media complacence, even talking heads on TV are picking up a brick and challenging the Illuminati and its Bush Administration to a motherfucking brawl. Look around you, Geraldo Rivera and Shepard Smith and craigslist's 1000 daily classist and discriminatory offers of charity housing and even Florida and the Red Cross are on this side of the line, and the only people left on the other side of the line are the Illuminati- GWBush, Big Oil, Banks, and Capitalism aka the .1% ruling class who've been attempting to divert us from the REAL Enemy.. "They Live, We Sleep", as the graffiti said..
"All I need to know about Revolution, I learned from John Carpenter movies."
(Emma Goldman on the past 1500 years of pkd's neverending roman fucking empire)
The longtime hipster stereotype of total familiarity with the eerily prescient films and soundtracks of John Carpenter is true for a reason: post-70s youth culture reality is to this day being significantly shaped by zombie video games, the visual metaphors of "Hiroshima Sure Fucked Us Up" anime and complementary fashion sensabilities that send the message that we are wearing our best clothes to the End of the World and the subsequent post-apocalyptic harley-riding badlands. And how could all of our best clothes clash?
Big Trouble In Little China: Kurt Russell kung-fus and cowboys against storm gods and ancient chinese immortals with lots of san francisco car chase scenes.
They Live: Republicans equal rich people equal disguised zombies that have colonized humankind into sleeping, working hard, eating shit- and a homeless, shit-kicking Rowdy Roddy Piper's going to make everyone wear the zombie-vision sunglasses, even broadcasting the zombie fraud worldwide, setting us all free with one violent televised shootout.
Ghosts Of Mars: Ice Cube fights against zombies and the police state as a bad-ass escaped felon on Mars.
Escape From New York: See any footage from New Orleans from the past 5 days.
"John Carpenter's Stormtrooper Zombie Apocalypse"
(Summer 2006)
The federal government's corporate- installed heads have ruined this perfect cowboy photo opportunity to save the US and transform the entire world by expressing compassion. Their ignorant, militarized capitalist minds do not see poor, black people as a market- significant loss, merely a criminal adversary to be contained and a PR opportunity to be managed- if they must now "care" about the relief effort, while maintaining price gouging rackets for Big Oil (aka the Illuminati Zombies, right?) In conclusion: Zombies. Shotguns. Molotov Cocktails. Sounds like the Democratic National Convention Free Speech Zones. Puppets, props..
Regional Progressive Leadership and State Secession? Reverse this Voltron- remove the tax bases and localize the regional armories and transport industries. Centralized control's fleeting slavemaster power to drive us against each other is even now being used, sending Wisconsin national guards to shoot New Orleans citizens, leaving New Orleans guards in Iraq to watch their home province be raped like some Germanic conscript ordered to serve on Rome's African front.
Military support of a revolution is bloody, but military inaction is what removed three Bolivian presidents in a row this June. That and Community-run radio telling people where to show up the next day. Support our troops by urging them to not fight for this war, or to come back home and fight the real war here.
"Voltron vs the Black Power Rangers"
(failed 80s saturday morning cartoon)
Kanye West took out NBC- took media so far that they left most of the passion and anti-racism in the rebroadcast and only censored his parting shot of "George Bush doesn't care about black people" because it didn't rhyme- what the fuck do TV executives know about rhyming???
This is how progressive fusionism happens, people: people in all disparate movements are coming out saying the same thing: "George Bush doesn't care about black people" "Characterizations of black flood victims as looters are overtly racist." Years of dialoguing, backbiting, losing leaders, and exploring of difference between each of the movements from the 60s and before- civil rights, women's rights, gay rights, student rights, anti-war movements, environmental movements, anti-nuclear movements- helped us all to know where each other's headspace was at, is at, and will be at. Part of organizing is knowing your allies' interests and differences.
Fuck yes for hip-hop breaking through the Democratic party's racism whitewash.
"[Democrats should] shift the primary focus from racism, the traditional enemy without, to self-defeating patterns of behavior [among blacks]"
Chuck Robb, 2nd DLC Chairman, Governor & Senator of the Great State of Virginia, White Man, 1986
Fuck yes to Kanye for teaching about conflict diamonds from Sierra Leone on a major label. Fuck yes to all artists for expressing their morals and being touchable, fallible actual humans who we can still all identify with- that's part of art, right??
"So What Can I Do?"
(just one voice in the blogosphere)
Apparently you can set up websites, read katrina blogs, bypass the media by updating craigslist, indymedia and wikipedia with latest developments- homegrown anarchist social information networks that are only slightly tainted with the commercial reek of the Illuminati's capitalism. You can set up phone trees and organize local support structures. You can tell everyone you know and everybody they know, too. If you have it, you can donate money to charity efforts and offer your houses up (how many talking heads on tv say "i'm donating 1000$ right now and bringing food somewhere" like they did during the tsunami?)- and pray, and send your good vibes.
And you can attempt to make the killing and suffering of millions end by taking control of your own local cities before the next global warming disaster cum military invasion occurs.
San Francisco was fucked in 1906 and 1989 and will be fucked when the next big one comes.
We do not have people-runner communication networks set up for when the power goes out and we cant use our community wireless or craigslist servers to find out what is happening and how we can help. We do not have community doctor networks set up to make sure that people get their insulin. We do not have evacuation plans for people, animals, appliances. Social capital-intensive countries like Cuba and Venezuela can think about these sorts of organizing that do not involve economic capital- and so can we.
So while the mayor's on vacation, it's time to take the city over and appoint citizen regulatory organizations that directly control the military, economic, media, and transportation resources of the Northern Californian region.
I was raised in Texas where Secession was not a word that meant "racism" but local control over resources. Texas was the only state in the South whose secession was technically legal. Secession does not mean removal of intra-commune support - just public control over public resources. That's the only motivator for Bush to send foreign troops to New Orleans- to disrupt any spontaneous public rescue/ feeding/housing/support structures that do not have the hooks of Big Oil or the Military deeply embedded.
Look for the media to become curfewed this week in New Orleans or at least requiring some form of military embedding for photo ops only. Meanwhile, San Francisco: Take back the power. Start with PG&E, then follow it to its logical conclusion. I'll be watching from the UK- hope the energy crisis is solved enough for me to take a solar glider back someday...
Seriously, everybody, it's time to think about what you need to do, and fucking do it. The Revolution is here.
Be safe-
hope to cook for you all someday soon.
